Precision filling, explained
Why our pens ship pre-filled, and how one click equals a repeatable 0.01 ml.

A Nordica pen is a cartridge and a dose-dial mechanism in one body. Most of our pens carry a 3 ml fill; NAD+ ships at 5 ml. The compound is already in solution when the pen is sealed.
One click, one fixed volume
The click-dial advances the plunger a fixed distance per click, displacing exactly 0.01 ml each time. That relationship is mechanical, not estimated, and it is identical across every pen we ship.
The mass dispensed per click follows from the concentration. A 10 mg compound in a 3 ml fill is 3.33 mg per ml, so 0.01 ml carries roughly 0.033 mg. A 5 mg compound in the same 3 ml fill carries roughly 0.016 mg per click. Every product page lists the exact figure for that pen, and the same figure is printed on the pen itself.
Why pre-filled rather than lyophilised
The conventional research-peptide format is a lyophilised vial: freeze-dried powder that the buyer reconstitutes with bacteriostatic water before use. That format has a long dry shelf life, but it moves several variables to the bench.
Reconstitution introduces the operator into the measurement. Volume of diluent, transfer accuracy, and syringe graduation all affect the final concentration, and they vary between operators and between sessions. A pre-filled pen removes those steps: the concentration is fixed at fill time under controlled conditions, and the dispensed volume is set by the mechanism rather than read off a barrel.
What this format asks of you in return
A pen in solution has different handling requirements from a dry vial. It must stay refrigerated between 2 and 8 degrees Celsius and it must never be frozen. See our handling and storage guide for the full detail.
